Testimonials

This park is under new management (previous name Challis RV Park). This is their second year of ownership. We had planned to stay here for 3 nights, but liked it so well we extended for 2 more nights. The park is unusually spacious, clean, very well-maintained, several pull-through lots. The lots are gravel but we found ours to be very level, and others appear to be quite level as well. There is grass between lots which the owners keep nicely mowed, and many young trees that will eventually provide nice shade. Toilets, showers, and laundry facilities are spotless. New owners, Jim and Roberta, are extremely pleasant and helpful. There are two grocery stores well within a short walking distance from the park. Also a casual but nice restaurant, Village Inn, nearby, good food, friendly staff. There is also a Farmer's Market on Saturdays, but we missed out on that. We enjoyed watching several young deer that walk through the park in the late afternoons. We also saw several deer meandering through residential neighborhoods in Challis, enjoying apples that had fallen from the trees. Challis area has a couple of scenic roads to drive, for a day-outing. We enjoyed driving to Stanley, ID, a touristy town. There are rafting trips on the lovely Salmon River, which we did not participate in this trip, but certainly might next time we are here. Lots of opportunities to fish the Salmon River, and the locals know good swimming areas. We might have stayed longer, but unfortunately there is a forest fire several miles west of Challis that is creating smoke in the atmosphere, and those of us with allergies are finding it increasingly uncomfortable. We will definitely stay here again. We camped in a 32 ft fifth wheel.

Camped in our trailer overnight at this well maintained RV Resort. Found the management to be friendly and helpful. Enjoyed Cable TV and Wifi at our site. Look forward to coming again to explore scenic byways, trails and hot springs in the area.
